During my very first adventure in the kitchen, I mixed up flour and powdered sugar while making homemade cupcakes. Hey, I was seven years old and didn’t understand why my cupcakes were boiling in the oven. Since then, I have improved drastically, even coming up with a S’mores Bar recipe that got sorority girls to eat during recruitment. Success.
As a single gal, I like a lot of cookie, bar or cupcake recipes since those are automatically portioned for one, but I am a sucker for a good coffee cake. I’m interested in experimenting with some candy-making, but to me, those recipes are like really cool science experiments that I don’t understand at all. Seriously, making a homemade caramel sauce nearly blew my mind.
